I removed the smog pump and replaced it with the off-road idler bracket from Frod Racing. With this you use the stock belt but your engine gains power because of less rotational mass. I plugged to 2 vacuum lines with bolts and electrical tape. I pluggedeach hole in each head with bolts and loc tite. I welded the tube to the exhaust shut. My car runs as good as it did before and then sum.

That's what I was wondering. I just didn't wanna take a chance of it actually being slower. I've never ran it at the track, but I do think it got faster with the shorter belt.

Do you know what the FRPP part number is? I couldn't find it.

It shouldn't make much difference whether you have a fox or sn-95. Just remove everything you see in Figure 12 and make sure you plug you heads, weld your h pipe and plug the 2 vacuum wires.

The smog pump is just an emissions thing. You will gain hp if you eliminate it. It's like an afterburner(sort of). It's just injecting air into ur exhaust in order to burn up extra hydrocarbons. Has no affect on FI or loss of hp.

Someone should figure out a way to route the air from the smog pump to the intake. Just out of spite.
