one looks for a cam by looking at all combined aspects and not just lift. lift alone is not a good way of looking at a cam, its a combined effort of duration lift and other aspects like lobe seperation. comp makes good stuff for f/i and so does crane, lunati is something to look into. custom is a great way to go to, i kno my77 isnt the biggest fan but wit a custom cam made by the right man it will almost always outperform the cam made for everyone. jmo good luck
on that note, the cam for this is not exactly custom but it is made specifically for these heads and intake so I figure that might be better seeing as its going to cost nearly the same to part it all out seperatley.

I like Comp's site because you can select your engine, then read the useages for the cam, street, strip, needs heads, such and such gear etc. It tells you what the cam will do, which is more important to know than what size what is. Once you have a grasp of it, you can look at cam specs and determine what rpm range and what kinda parts it'll use. Simply picking a cam that matches your use and rpm range from out of Comp's catalog is a good way to go since you can't go wrong. In case you're wondering, I'm using a Crane off the shelf grind, cuz I got it for $180. There are a lot of good choices out there from simple off the shelf to custom grinds.

whatcha guys think about this to replace my old school 300/300 .500/.500 bump stick with?

http://www.cranecams.com/?show=brows...tType=camshaft

im seriously considering the 175 bucks for the cam and lifter set and swapping over. the cam i have now will make more power up top i believe but i think this one will more more down low. i dunno, im torn (i love the long duration / mean lope of my old school grind)
