Turbo and CR
it will have between 10.0:1 and 10.4:1 CR. Dyno 2000 says 10.22:1
i thought about forced induction later on and max boost would be at like 10psi so i dont cross that 550bhp level. n/a the 331 should put out about 450bhp. i would need larger than 30lb inj. correct? im pretty sure ill need like 42's.
what would i need to do in order to run a turbo on my motor?

RE: Turbo and CR
yeah i kno that, but i already have the pistons in the block and almost have the whole motor put together. and i already got the heads and all that put on. too late for this build lol.
ok heres a question for you yal, what would i have to do extra that i would not have to do with an oem block if i got a 302 type block to hold say 800hp? like a dart or something? im just curious...for the next project im wanting to make more power and i like the 302 style b/c i can get away with telling people its just a 302 and its really a 331 or something.
just wondering what would have to be done diff. to an aftermarket block?

RE: Turbo and CR
well the only way to find out is to ask. all i want to do is boost my 331 but i cant b/c of the block integrity and cr. so i thought i could go aftermarket. yes i kno its $$$ but i can save up a while for it. its just an idea im throwing around so i thought i would ask.

RE: Turbo and CR
You can get a custom gound camshaft with more overlap. It will 'bleed' off compression. I have 10:1 pistons in my car, but with my cam overlap it drops the compression all the way down to 9.31. You should check out this calculator. It's good info. http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/comprAdvHD.htm

RE: Turbo and CR
ok im not sure what my static cr is b/c i dont have the figure of the piston deck height. from what i remembered it was dang close to flush just by the naked eye but that means nothing in very small amounts.
