yea Ive never driven a fox from below 1987 but i never heard great things about the earlier years. the 79's are not known for their power. my 87 has plenty of "pull" and put you back in your seat power. I don't know what your problem is but try some gears or some aftermarket headers or exhaust. it might help.

No i got true duals with a magna flow and dman wtf did i first say at the begining? God damn no spray go to the Honda forums. Jking but for real im gettin pissed at my car its such an exspensive hobby and wit just keeping it going im strapped for cash i might need a collection going!
