All right guys im pretty pissed! I was so excited on finally gettin a mustang and even though its a young fox body its still a v-8 and a 302 and im gettin no power. For reall i did the usuall on changing caps and plugs and a tad bit of other things but still im not gettin the pull? Given that it only has probably 147 horse stock probably but shouldnt there be more there i mean come on its like 2,500 pds its basically the lightest year. Any reasoning and tunes would be greatly appretiated and not one person better even type in "SPRAY".... cus a mustangs an American classic not a domestic base for a rice ride!

if there is only 147hp what do you want out of it? with 147hp its not going to have any pull

i thought stock 302's were rated at like 200-240

How many miles and was it taken care of? How much horsepower do you think an engine will make if no one changes the oil for 20k miles

disty rotor / cap, spark plugs, fuel pump, injectors, fuel filter, air filter, timing.

after you get all of that squared away you can start narrowing down.

no in 79 they were rated at 140hp

Stock 5.0 from 87 - 93 has about 180 WHP stock, if in good and restored condition.
