the other night i noticed that when im in 5th gear my car seems to make a strange air leak kinda noise from the engine compartment when i give it gas. i tried all the other gears and it doesn't do it, just in overdrive. any ideas?

Do you have cold air kit? Air silencer removed if otherwise? You might be just hearign the air rushing in the intake.

i removed my silencer box and i have the march ram air kit, i was goin the same speed when it did it, i'd go from 5th to 4th and no noise in 4th?

yea that is prolly what it is... and you only hear it in 5th cause the rpms drop enough and the engine has more load on it in that tall gear...

it's probably just air noise in the intake system since the engine speed drops when you go into overdrive and the throttle closes off some it might just be at a point where it makes a whistling sound as the air slips past the butterfly in the throttle body. you don't hear this in 4th gear because the engine speed is higher and the butterfly is more open.
