RE: answer this from personal expericence
I've owned 2 5.0 mustangs. One I did shorty's on when it was stock, the other I did longtubes. I didn't notice much of a difference when I did short tubes on one. When I did longtubes I noticed a large gain from 3500-5000rpm and didn't really notice any loss in low end torque.

yea i got a vert too, and im just looking for something better, right now i got the stock exhaust manifolds..this is a 92 lx vert btw, bbk offroad h-pipe, and flowmaster american thunder catback, its just not cutting it for me, im planning on some major mods in the future so i wanna have all the supporting mods done before hand and i think the 3 inch exhaust would do well, so im looking into longtubes from bbk and then the 3 inch all the way back

if you lower your car or put a panhard bar on it you wont be able to run 3" all the way back,, if i were youid stay with 2.5" all the way back unless you plan on makin serious HP and even then 2.5" wont hurt you that much, plus the droan of the 3" dumped with the vert kinda sucks but ive gotten used to it, only droans under 1300rpm,,not under that much anyway
