hello everyone. i went and looked at a 5.0 today and the hood had flew up. i was wondering is it possible to change the cowl piece behind the hood? it is pushed down from the hood smashing it. Also it has a very nice black interior and besides the hood, i didnt see much damage. is 1500 a good price? 5speed 1987 gt i believe

It is possible to change the Cowl.

When I bought my 5.0 the hood had flown up as well and had a big dent in it and the cowl had broken. I got a real nice one off ebay. It was like $40 with shipping. It just had to be filed down a little underneath to fit right and allow the hood to open properly.

5.0 Hoods have a tendency to fly open, both my 5.0s had their hood flying at one point or another [&:]

1500 is a steal if the condition of the car is nice and runs.

good price for the car.. the plastic vent can be replaced but i had to have the metal part of my cowl actually fixed by a body shop

blueovalproducts have the cowls to, i sat on mine one day (long story) need to find a new one, anyone kno if u can get a metal one or something a little more durable
