my friend has a 95 5.0 with gears and exhaust and the basics. im trying to get him to become a pretty sick street car. i suggested a cam but anyone got any numbers of what cam to suggest. he wants to keep up with me and my 99. hes not big into the nitrous so thats otta here. 600 dollar budget to tell you the truth. any suggestions

yea this is a good idea... if he only has 600 bucks nitrous is really the only way to go.... if you goin to put a cam in u might as well but heads and an intake on too.... otherwise you wasting your time... a new cam might net 15hp.... were a h/c/i combo would get you 80hp+ in most cases.... and its the same amount of work... only difference in the dollar amount... so have in save a buy a h/c/i combo...but he still wont be as fast as you... will be faster[8D]... unless your running a power adder which i wouldnt guess no but how knows

heads are more of choke point than cam.

maybe some cast iron GT-40 or GT-40P heads off ebay for $400 and some 1.7 rockers.
pick up nice 40-50hp

an x 303? could you explain that to me, im used to comp 262 talk, haha ou must excuse me. but just looked into those gt40 heads and 1.7 rockers. def a job i can do here and not in the shop. ill suggest it to him, hopefully he will bite.
