Default Shaky at high speeds

So I just had my car on the highway for the first time in a long time. Just 5 days ago I had a wheel alignment, but my steering wheel was shaking violently over 60mph, and it almost felt like the car would swerve a little on its own. WTF!!!!!??!?!?

sounds like a balance problem....the tires could also have flat spots from sitting for a long time in the same place....

wheel balance would NOT cause the steering wheel to shake. the car would shake.. and u would think it was just the steering wheel. i work in a tire shop and i have to put up this stuff everyday.

i will bet money that ur tires have flat spots on them.

how can you work at a tire shop and still say a balance issue won't cause a vibration in the stering wheel?????? I manage an automotive shop, and when a customer comes in with a vibration problem...the first question I ask is..."Is the vibration in the steering wheel or the seat?" so I can know which wheels to balance.....

its probably wheel balance in the front wheels if he feels it in the steering wheel.. that is exactly where you would feel it

unbalanced wheels will cause the whole car to shake. it can get worse depending on tire wear, type, rating, etc..

go ahead balance the wheels and see what happens... u will be back here asking the same question.

but what do i know.....i only do this 7 days a week
