Default A Windows mini-PC for my car for only $85?

I was looking around and found this computer here that is only $85 for the base model. I know it's not the most powerful PC, but it's so small that I can install it in the armrest. Then I can hook it up to a mini touchscreen monitor and use it for my Tweecer RT. The only problem is that it has no HD, and runs off a CF card (2 GB.) So I would be extremely limited, but there are always external USB drives that are small too.

If I wanted to step it upa notch to this system for $250. It has a 40GB harddrive. And just like the other one, I could install a touch screen and be ready to go. Except with the larger HD,I could also have wifi, an mp3 player, GPS, and of course a few emulators on there (NES, SNES, Sega, gameboy, etc.)

But again, it would be nice to be able to datalog my runs, check my tune, alter my tune, and have a complete digital dashboard all without having to tote my laptop around.

i would look at system requirements of the tweecer software before purchasing a computer for the car.

Just found a compatible 8" VGA touchscreen monitor for under $180 shipped. So if I bought the second setup, I'd be looking at about $430 for the entire setup. Not too bad at all.

As far as Tweecer requirements, they're not too demanding. 32MB RAM, 20MB HD space, USB port, and Win 98 or greater. None of which will be a problem. I'm a Computer Forensic Analyst with a BS in computer science. And in my spare time, I own and run a small company that builds and repais computers (Alternative Computer Solutions LLC) so I'm not too worried about the PC side of things. That's the easy part

Yeah. Those datalogs can get HUGE. I can already see myself transfering fines back and forth off this thing. Maybe even getting an external drive.

If I do end up doing this, then it's going to make tuning and monitoring even easier. Then all I have to do is design a "manifold pressure" warning message that can flash on my screen to warn me when I'm using too much nitrous. That wayI won't have to worry about my floor board falling out on me.

It is such a pain in the *** lugging my laptop around when I need to tune or log. Then I have to worry aboujt it falling off my seat or banging around on the floor. If I had a stationary system...wow.

LoL, you should see wht i did with my trunk this weekend. Went out to home depot and bought some light wood. Then ripped everything out and made a custom trunk shelf that hid the methanol pump and tank, but also gave me a place to mount my sub, my amp, my capicator, and my nitrous bottle. I also hid the battery and most of the wires.

It doesn't look perfect, but it looks a lot better than it did. And it only cost me $2.01 in wood, lol. (got it from the scrap pile and covered it in grey carpeting.)
