Gear Problems

RE: Gear Problems
yeah, I'll be taking care of all that's needed to get down to bare metal before welding one in the car. I'd like to find someone who has done some before so I can be sure the welds and installation will pass tech at VMP, they can be kinda picky I'm told about weld quality and such. I also don't want them setting fire to my headliner either! LOL

each bearing is machined for a certin race, so when you replace a bearing your supposed to replace the race too
ORIGINAL: 90LX50
On the repair ticket they left in my cars said the bearing race was spinning in the housing. If I'm not mistaken, when you replace the bearings you also replace the races.
They were supposed to do this the first time I was in there. Is there any chance they installed the wrong race/bearing sets?
This would really **** me off.

if your using used gears there lies the problem..they have to be set up to run on the old pattern very time consuming but can be done with blue marker ink and alot of time..best thing is to buy a new set and have them install them for free and give you a credit on the gears you bought from them and cut your losses[:@]

Those races have to be pressed in, someone should've noticed that when the bearings were replaced.
I bet they put the wrong bearing sets in there and just plopped it back together.[:@]
