Seafoam Question

RE: Seafoam Question
never heard of it, and seafoam works... i never put it anyplace except thru the break booster, and u do it in 1/3s, u will se alot of smoke, i keep doing it till i get no smoke, so every few weeks i treat the car, eventually no smoke show= clean car, i dont recomend doing it thru the carbb as it wont reach all the vacum lines the same and its more likely to kill the motor. its a waste to put in the gas tank imop, and havent seen any improvements by adding it to oil either, but thru vacum line i have seen a stuttering motor pur after a can

RE: Seafoam Question
I did a whole can in my booster hose (1/3 at a time) and the next day when my tank was REAL low, I put a can of it in the gas tank. 351w8bang was the one that told me, and everything he said to do I did and I do see an improvement.

RE: Seafoam Question
Reason most folks use a vacuum line is you can't pour it into a horizontal throttle body on fuel injected engines. If you have a carbuerator, it's much easier just to SLOWLY pour it in. Just use a small stream and listen for stalling. Try not to stall it.

RE: Seafoam Question
Seafoam is a fuel and upper intake cleaner, can also be put into the crankcase as an oil additive for cleaning. If there is carbon buildup in the intake or heads, it will smoke like a frieght train when you clean it. For more information look at the SeaFoam sales site here;

First of all, even if you put it in your brake booster line it's not gonig to "reach all the vacuum lines." It's only going to go through the one line you actually put it in. And either way, the goal isn't to clean your vacuum lines with the stuff. You're trying to clean your combustion chamber.
And of course it's going tyo stutter! You're putting a large amount of liquid into a cylinder with air and fuel. What did you think it would do? You'd get teh same effect if you whipped it out and pissed in the intake. But that doesn't mean that it's working.
Why is it a waste of time to put it in the gas tank? You do think it would be helpful to run through the lines and injectors to clean them up a bit?
And what's wrong with putting it in the crankcase? Would you not want to try to clean sludge out of your engine?
And BTW, there's nothing wrong with putting it through the carb. The most direct method to get it into teh cylinders is often the best.
I haven't seen this much misinformation since the Iraqi Information Minister was on the air.
