Default 1994 GT 5.0

Hey all. I am not normally in this forum cuz I have a 3.8l but am in the process of trying to convince hubby to let me get a 1994 GT 5.0. The dealer is asking 9980 for it. The car has 37400 original miles on it. Would this be a great buy? Are there any real issues with this year's 5.0? I know with the 94 95 3.8L V6 the head gasket was a major issue....I just want to know if any of you smart people here know of any potential issues I could come upon with this car? HELP PLEASE hehe. I had them do a carfax report and nothing out of the ordinary came up, the mileage is original.

$10k is WAY too much money for a GT. you dont need to get something with super low miles as the 5.0l is a very stout engine. You could get your hands on a Cobra for that kind of money.... Honestly, i'd keep looking... $10k is the biggest rip-off ever

You can probably pick a GT for about 6000 and then throw the rest into mods.

I'll sell ya my car for 10k. Thats way too much for a 94 Gt. My girlfriend got one a couple years ago and paid 6k I think for it. The only problem we had with hers is her clutch, hermonic balancer, and rack and pinion, but thats all really minor things.

A 94-95 GT ashould cost you no more than $6500. No way I'd spend that much.. I don't care if it had 0 miles. Especialyl considering how cheap it is to get a brand new engine for them.

Wow I didn't realize that they should be so much cheaper. You know how the dealers go. They don't wanna come down on the price. Though I have to say I love the car. I would prolly pay the money just to keep it from someone else hahaha. Seriously though, you guys are great. Thanks for the input.

Hey svt, where do you live? What's the mileage on your car?

I just paid 4200 for my 94 GT 5-spd in my photo gallery. It's in perfect condition Mach sound system, 10 disc cd changer, 100% stock, perfect body, and interior. Take a look.. (Most of the 94-95GT's were in the 5-6k range, and none were as clean as the one I bought, I got it at a steal!)

I don't like the fox body style. I like the newer ones. My 3.8L style is nice, I don't mind it. I just don't like the horizontal taillights.
I wish I could find a car like this one for less. I have not seen ANY like this car anywhere else around town or the papers. I'm really torn about what to do.
