Strokers have advantages and disadvantages. Size is the obvious advantage, more power down low, and just plain more power. But the more you stroke it you generally tend to get a steeper rod angle, like luckythirteen13 said about the 347, you can't ignore physics. It's also generating higher piston velocity so there's more inertia at tdc and bdc when the piston changes direction.Shorter stroke engines will take rpm's better and last longer, since decreased side loading = less friction and less wear. Comes down to engine longevity vs power among other things. Many people have stock engines that last over 250k miles, I don't know anyone with a big stroker that's ever gotten that, though they may be out there and I just don't know them

I hope not, and I wasn't favoring one engine over the other if that's what anyone thought. Just saying they each have their own good and bad points. As far as I know, there is no perfect engine

if you are worried about the rod angle on the 347 then do a big bore 347 shorter rod and same displacement,, take it to someone that knows what they are doing, buy good parts not crappy ones spare no expense and beat the **** outta it
