Clutch opinions!!!!Need Help
Well the ole bitch finally gave out after running the hell out of it for 7 years. The guy I bought the car from said he put a racing clutch in the car.....ok. BUT I want to put a reliable clutch that can handle big power 6-700 hp 800 trq that i have planned for this car. Can anyone give me some feedback on what you got or have heard of, for a 5.0L 1994 GT. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

puttint in a clutch that will handle 600-700hp and 800ish tq would be a waste...
#1: your block cant handle that power
#2: your tranny cant handle that power
#3: buying that strong of a clutch will have adverse effects on driveability.
you need to plan out your mods and figure out exactly what you wanna do with your car.

RE: Clutch opinions!!!!Need Help
i havea LMC centerforce (OVERKILL) i don't remember exatly the rating on it but i know it was higher than 600hp... clutch does not slip what so ever, pain to drive in town untill u get used to it but once u do man is it nice... stop an go gets annoying (it's a P.I.T.A.even with a light clutch IMO) i no lift shift it all the time and when i was driving the car it saw at least one race aday, regardless the cars stock the clutch still looks new (even has the cross hatch patern) after 20,000 miles or so... i am VERY rough on my clutch (killed a king cobra in less than an oil change)thats just my opp.the more hp the clutch can take the longer it will last (but the stronger clutches don't like to slip on take offs in normal driving\

RE: Clutch opinions!!!!Need Help
upgrade the clutch only when needed. start with a stock PP with a centerforce DF disk. i run this setup on my built 351w and it holds great, very streetable, and can take a lot of abuse. i launch dumping the clutch at 6k with slicks and mine holds up great.
