i ended up running a neg cable all the way back up to the block.
hey roundy why do you need to run a seperate wire from alt to the kill switch?
reason asking is i'm yanking my summit box,and making it right.
i'm running a powermaster, since it all ties into the silinoid, cant you run it just to the battery?

There are several ways you can do it, depending on the car. I just did mine last month, and it works fine. I used 1 ga cable from the battery to the starter relay and also from the battery to the unibody, and another short one from the unibody to the engine. If you are setting it up for the strip, you will need the rear cut off, and the alternator cable routed to the battery also to pass tech.

Here is mine:

Bobby:
Thanks, it has been a 2 year long, full time project so far. The fan is from a MarkVIII that I picked up for $30 in the junk yard. It pulls over 4,000 CFM. The wiring to it goes from the center of it towards the drivers side. The relays and temp control are remote mounted. Even with the 3500 rpm stall speed, the car has never gone over 185f in traffic.

Okay thanks guys. They sent a few of those tie downs in the kit but it looks like i will probably need a few more. I knew that to run at the track you had to vent the battery to the outside of the car, but is that a good idea to vent it no matter what? I wont get like poisoned or anything if i dont vent the box will I?
No, but there is a remote chance that the hydrogen gas generated by the battery charging could build up inside the car and a spark could ignite it leaving you a crispy critter! LOL

yes you can but make sure you connect the alternator wire upstream of the cutoff switch. It's easier to connect the wire at the battery terminal on the switch than trying to connect it at the battery terminal itself. if you leave it connected at the starter solenoid, you are downstream of the cutoff switch and the engine will not be stopped when the switch is turned OFF which means you won't pass tech with it that way.

Well, nevermind everyone. My dad wouldnt let me do it because he said having the battery inside the car was too dangerous. So now i am out the $43 for the battery kit. I cant wait till I move out. I also got a ford e cam and my dad wouldnt let me put it in because he said i need to make sure i keep my engine reliable...

thanks roundy,it's just i have so many wires running through my car i was curious what my options were.
negadivone i think your dad doesn't know what's liable..........like your ignition switch known for many car fires.
i know that was out of context, but so is his thinking that an e-cam isn't liable?
