is my tach wrong
today i drove my car and it was just rebuilt about 300 miles ago well today when i pulled out i got on it hard and it broke loose spinning and before i knew it the tach wasalmost at 7k which is maxed out and then i changed gears, my question is where is the rev limiter at onthese cars and since i rebuilt the car with forged pistons and put on a trick flow h/c/i could my tach be off because this car tached up to 7kreally fast.by the way the car is a 93 model

RE: is my tach wrong
it will tach up nice and fast in 1st gear while spinning. mine does. its probably not accurate, most stock tach's aren't, but its not far off.
you better stop doing that, btw.
my motor is stock and i can hold 6k spinning at half throttle. be careful.

I dont recommend pushing 7kvery often if at all, unless youlikeit whenthings explode.Just because it goes to 7k doesnt mean you should take it there.
My auto can push5500 from a standstill if i floor it hard enough. Last time i did that i got lightheaded once i got movin lol.

sounds like your goin to **** up all that cash u spent... if u only got 300 miles on it u shouldnt be laying into it like that.... and 7k isnt a good idea.... dont do it nemore if u what your car to live much longer.... 6500 on a stock block is sumtimes even pushing it... i got a custom can with a shifting point in between 6000-6500... i belive it supposa be at 6300 but i need to get it tuned and see if thats true.... but i woulnt dream of goin past that... for one u wont get ne mroe power... and 2 youll tear **** up fast like that.... u gotta have a lotta special **** to run higher RPMs... expensive **** normally.... tach is close enough unless u want it dead on..... i think the tuner took the rev limiter off
