Default Piston Rings...

Anyone have a preference of good experience with any certain type of rings??? I'm in between deciding whether or not to put my charger back on... Gonna try to get a price together on what its gonna cost me to get my motor back together so thats it balanced and blue printed and fixed right. If I put it back together for the charger, its gonna be right cuz this tearing down ever so often is getting old... So i'm gonna try to get some **** thats gonna last...So if anyone has had any luck with any certain type of rings, let me know... Thanks

Default RE: Piston Rings...

I use Mahle Motorsports pistons and rings. The pistons are nicely designed with a high tight ring pack, and the rings are thin (1.5mm in most cases) and low drag, but with standard tension(they have low tension as well). Top ring is plasma moly, both compression rings are ductile. Seals well, lightweight pistons, low friction rings. But you're looking at about $600 give or take for a piston/ring set. I have the powerpaks btw, low expansion forged pieces, they reccomend running with like .003-.0035 clearance at leastI think, I got mine at .004, no problems so far.
