Best way to launch on slicks with a stick

RE: Best way to launch on slicks with a stick
Lets just say that when I had stock suspension, I was launching at about 2k rpm, with a 2.2 avg. 60ft, I was running consistent 13.4's .. With the control arms and shocks and struts alone, I was able to up my launch to 5k rpm at times (depending on track conditions) and pull 1.7-1.8 60ft's and lowered my time to a best of 12.7. Suspension does a lot. Cannot stress that enough..
In fact, if any of you remember Roundman he had a completely stock 5.0 (aside from a CAI and elec. fan) but he had a full drag suspension and 4.56gears (AOD)and ran low 13's at about 104mph. That's amazing if you ask me!

not to steal this thread, but since were talking about suspension...
i plan on adjustable upper& lower control arms, strange 10way front and rear, 4.10's, DR's (255's), aode, and 3000stall and about 350-375 to the wheels & 3400lb car .......what 60ft times would be reasonable if i hooked up? and do yal think deep 11's are possible?
again sry to bumb the thread but thats been bugging me for a while...i want deep 11's! lol

I'm sure, the AOD was completely built as far as I remember, just the completely stock engine.. Was fascinating to see. Would love to see what that car could do with a built engine.
Haven't seen Roundman around for about a year. He was a good guy, and a TON of help.

Dude, that Notch was an Animal!!!!! The lurtching that you was seeing in the video looked like he was on and off the transbrake. I don't see where someone could do that with a foot brake and get the rpm's up to the correct speed in that short of time between lurching the car to a full launch. I'm positive that dude has a transbrake in that BEAST.
I could be wrong lincoln, but I wouldn't put it past the point where you will probly need a little shot of the juice to get in the low 11's. Like I said before I may be wrong, it's just my opinion.
As far as launching with sticky tires, you won't have to worry about the rearend near as much as a stock T-5, if thats what you are running. I broke mine at the track doing 5k rpm+ launches. When in doubt, gas on it.

blessedhellride, thanks for the reply. i have been doubting mid 11's but i am running at sea level and thought it could be possible...ill have to wait and find out.
he was foot breaking it...he had a very high stall...w/ a transbrake the car wont move and the suspension wont preload like that.
