RE: Boss 302
its really not worth it if you just looking for power.. .there are cheaper ways... its more of a DYI type of thing... would be good for a show car... but thats a lotta cash man.... i would look into other opitions

RE: Boss 302
bad info already on this thread. Those 4v cleve heads are what was on the original boss 302 and they made **** loads of power, problem was they had to rev, they can hitpast 7grand in stock form but were rev limited to 6 so the power was cut off, those heads are better than just about any streetable windsor head. why do u think clevor motors, as they are called, are banned from racing, i have seen a 357 clevor hit 650 hp n/a. name a windsor combo that will do that n/a. u cant unless ur going full full on race. those heads are nasty, but the 2v ford ones arent all that good, what u need is to look at chi they have the best heads around. the process is a little expensive and u have to have a lot of knowledge to do it.ur best bet for expense and experience is stick wit a windsor

RE: Boss 302
there was a guy in the engine buildoffs with a chi heads topped motor that was making over 600 hp with a rev limiter of 6500..... i dunno what px is talking about a 3 hp increase, because even the 2v heads flow like a sonofab*tch. also, with the chi heads you can buy the matching intake and such, basically its a bolt on deal.

RE: Boss 302
the kit your talking about raises the floor which is a good thing. really, the aussie heads were best - with the 2v ports and the 4v smaller chambers. still though, something simply badass about clevor motors. they have more character than something with some out of the box aftermarket stuff thrown on ya know?

RE: Boss 302
my goal motor is a 408 or 427 stroker with 4v C heads...... i know there are better heads out there but i also know that the extra cubes will pretty much mean those heads wont be total overkill like they are on a little bitty 302. think of the rectangle port 427 big block chevys, similar port size to the 4v C heads.

cleveland heads on a 302, thats my next project, althoug im using 2v heads, but i do have 4v heads on my cleveland in my 69, go ahead, say im stupid and shouldve gotten 2v heads, blah ****ing blah, i didnt have a choice, and im hitting at least 400HP na, mild cam and bolt ons
i say do it, 1k for an intake manifold is somewhat true, i would say a little less but that will be the most expensive part for you to find/pay for
