Default Opinions on buying

Im looking around for a 89-92 mustang. This will be my first mustang and will be the first car that ill probably be doing the engine work. Ive only worked on smaller engines, atv's dirtbikes, etc. From what ive seen, around her a stock/clean 5.0 will go for around $3,500-4,000. For about $7,500 give or take i could get a built car. Ive found 3-4 clean cars that are already built and super charged to 400-450hp. I know ill eventually want to get to that point but im thinking it would just be cheaper to have one already done even though I know it kind of skips the learning process of building it for me. So my questions are, what do you guys think about buying a buying a car like this? and, what kind of regular maitenenace will need to be done on a built car like this if im only driving it about 5k miles a year. Thanks

I say buy one for cheap and build it yourself. its alot more fun to do it that way (i think), I liked watching the changes in my performance after certain mods.

Yea I really want to do the work myself because I love cars but I dont have alot of money. It took me 2 years to save up $6500 so far. I just have to decide whether it would be worth paying more to do it myself. Generally, hows the reliability with a supercharged 5.0?

I agree with Cass, buy one cheap and have fun driving it as is, but go ahead and buy a World products block or equal and build it from the bottom up the way you want it, be ready to spend some money!

Ok ive been thinking it over and i guess ill just try to find a clean cheap stock 5.0. I dont nessasarily need 450hp but generally how much money would it take to get it to...350hp or so? I dont really know the prices of things, never looked into the engine parts before. From what I understand its pretty obtainable with a HCI and maybe some more things?

if 350 is all ya want....500-600 on a nitrous kit, 100 on a 255 lph fuel pump, and 80 on an adjustable FPR....
