keep in mind that the motor will generally run 10-15* hotter than your thermo rating
+1

switched out my 195 for a 180. well the damn thermo housing still leaks but i dont give a ****. i advanced the timing and the car rips. neighbors at work called the cops on me this morning. i told them i was just tuning the car and they gave me a hand shake and left

There's fire inside your engine. Of course it's going to be hot.

In order to tell if it's too hot, you have to stick your face on the upper intake.

I heard you were supposed to stick your d*** up the tailpipe.

Plus one though. An engine is supposed to be hot. So your thinking that your engine is running, what, 10-20 degrees hotter than normal? I don't know how much of that difference you'd be able to feel, to know that your car was running too hot. A temp guage is a better indicator. Good luck.

my exhaust leak is before the 02's its where the header bolts up to the head and theres one on the back of the head where a plug is missing. would this cause a lean issue.
