Default WindshieldWiper fuild in gas tank?

I heard my friend put a gallon of windshield wiper fluid in his gas tank, why the hell would som1 do this and what are the negative effects of doing this?

haha yeah sounds like a pretty bad idea, although I have heard that it has a small amount of methanol in it, still no good for the gas tank.

Are you sure he put it in his gas tank? You can actually spray it into your engine for an increase in performance under certain conditions. It's good for an extra 30 - 50 HP in my car denepding on how I tune it. But you can't just put it in the gas tank. You have to have a seperate tank that you tap and use. Then you have a solenoid spray it into the intake just like nitrous.

Either that or maybe the dumbass heard about methanol injection but didn't quite understand the concept.

Put some dry gas in the tank and it might be ok.
Putting anything with water in it in the gas tank is not a good idea.
