RE: Odometer does not work 1994 5.0
i've seen this problem in BRAND NEW f150's.. they just go dim and eventually stop showing, but they stick do tick over. a few good whacks usually set's 'em straight for a while, but it will need replacing eventually. as far as i know, the CPU stores the mileage, so if you swapped to a new speedo cluster, your actual milage would still show.

its got a gear for it on the rear end or tranny and im 99% sure on that ( a master mechanic told me that is the problem , but he didnt see the car either, its like the most probable cause he said.) i just need to get under there and look.

well i know for sure on my car, which has the analog rolling numbers, that the speedo cable controls it. if the speedo works, and the odo doesn't, its not the cable, or the gear

we dont have a cable that controls it...eletronics control it. he said it might have came unplugged.
i found this on stangnet on a quick google search:
Another thing that will be a challenge is the speedo gauge as the SN95 cluster has an electronic gauge and the older mustangs have the manual ones.
