Default new MAF help, computer reset?

Just installed a 70mm MAF I got off E-Bay. Car seems to surge a little now, just wondering if I should reset the computer. I guess I should have pulled the sensor and cleaned it too. I'll do that tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.

Yea, it is set up for 19lb injectors. it is a Pro Flow bullet. I just discovered something tho- just went out to check the numbers and discovered it says 75mm, not 70mm. It does say 19c in the box for calibration. I guess I should thank the guy that sold it to me! It was advertised as a 70mm!

ok then, so your problem is more than likely the positioning of the MAS itself. you'll notice that the harness for the MAF is a tad longer than it should appear to be, this is for a reason.

turning the MAF to the left or the right is called "clocking" it. this sometimes need to be done so that airflow contacts the wires in an even, unobstructed pattern, especially if your running a fenderwell CAI.

sometimes, the airflow will come around the bend and actually miss the wires in the MAS. this causes the bucking and surging.

I'm still running the stock air box, so I shouldn't be getting too much turbulance. The sample tube is on top, so witch way should I try clocking it? Is it hit and miss and keep on trying or is there a definate way that will help more than the other?

mine is tilted a bit towards the drivers side, seems to work best there, because the suction comes up that side of the tubing.

Thanks matt, I appreciate the advice! I take it you are running the stock air box too? I have heard others saying that with a K&N they flow about as well as any. I just have the paper element for now because I can not bring myself to pay an arm and leg for a K&N, only to have it mess up myMAF with stray oil! I can't believe you are not digging my msd mount! lol are you going to be at CJ's on the 14th?
