4cyl Hatch conversion. What can I get rid of?
I am going to be purchasing an 88 4cyl Hatch here soon, and will begin stripping the thing down to make a street car for it that will see 2-3k miles a year. What can I get rid of and still be good. I know of the a/c, smog pump, and heating elements, but what else in the engine bay can be removed for when I drop in my 331 turbo setup? I want this car to be very light. Please help.

well if you want to lose some weight look in other places other than the engine bay, you can take the interior out, and get rid off all the sound deadner then reinstall the interior. it's free and saves a good deal of weight.
now if you have the money you can get aluminum heads, fly wheel, drive shaft, that will save some weight, but for the engine bay you pretty much said everything that would save weight in that department and eleminate some hp stealing elements
