Default 351 windsor and 351 clevland

what is the difference between a 351 windsor and a 351 clevland and why do they say that the 351 clevland is better

351C

351W

351C 4bbl Heads

351C 2bbl Heads

351W Heads

a C is almost the same as a 351M/400 motor. those two are very hard to tell apart. the C's (and the M's) are pretty much a big block in size and weight, and have oiling issues in stock form.

the W's are sturdy and well designed from the factory, but lack the power potential of the C's because of the head design. this is why alot of people play with "clevor" motors, which are W blocks with C heads.

the only thing that comes close are the 429/460/BOSS 429 heads

and the rectangle port big block chevy heads (here is a gasket comparison of normal BBC heads and the rectangle port heads)

*bangs head against the wall*

ok..... go back and really LOOK at the first two pictures. notice the heads are completely different. notice the blocks are completely different. notice that aside from main journal and head bolt spacing NOTHING is the same between the two engine families.

Yep....just a little, but enough to have them banned from competing in some "circles"......
