Is there a relay associated with the A/C ?
My A/C recently startingcycling then stopped working again so I decided to have a shop service it this time. I told them I think it needed vacuming out as I added a couple differentaftermarket cans of refridgerantearlier this summer before it crapped out. Anyways....
The guy charged it on the machine { I saw him do it } then informs me it works well but he had to jump the relay to make it work & I need a new relay which he said he ordered, what relay could this be , I did a search A/C relay here & Google & couldnt find anything..This mechanic has been out sick for the last week & his partner didnt know anything about it..I need my A/C back been hot as a mother here, LOL.. Can anyone inform me of what relay may need replacing ? Car's an '87 all new A/C components recently retrofitted to 134 a //
thanks ..

May be the low pressure switch. It is located next the dryer on the right side of the firewall. This is what you normally would jump across to make sure the compressor is working. Hope that helps.

Ahh OK good info thanks, he did come to me before he finished working on it & asked me if I raced the car & if there was a switch that cut the A/C out before launching..Maybe it's got something to do with that switch also you just jogged my memory on something elseI think theres a high rev switch or relay that can blow thatsin line with the A/C if I'm not mistaking..Ahh man I 'm getting closer & closer to my A/C working again I think....

Thanks Mattdel, I know I hit the rev limiter a few times& problably with the A/C on as well ..maybe I blew that one & thats the relay he was refering to that he" jumped " to make it work..
I'll take it out & test it or maybe justjust replace it if it's cheap enough..

The pressure switch on the tank near the firewall( the round one, screws in to the tank, wires out the top) was what caused my air to quit working on my 94, I actuallly got a new Motorcraft one yesterday for $35. It works great now. Simiple fix, if that what the matter with yours.
