forgot the hoodpins need help
My girlfriend forgot to put the hoodpins back in. about five miles down the road my 5inch bolt on fiberglass hood flew up busting my windshield and busting my hood. it ripped out the underside where it was bolted and i was trying to find the easiest way to put hood pins up near the windshield until i can get another hood. i put the ones up front and they were no fun, i was seeing if anybody has an easy way to do it.

i was trying to find a way to align the hood pins with the the holes in the hood the first time. its had to lift it up and check when they are up near the windshield

OUCH
Sorry to hear that dude, don't beat your girlfriend up, lol.
Go to Home Depot, they sell Pins there just like the ones you lost or close to them, alot of guys go there looking for pins for their hoods and find good stuff to use. (Make sure you check in the hardware section in Crown and Bolt isle

Make an angle bracket you can screw to the firewall. Then drill the hole for the hood pins.Use a piece of tape or something like that and when you set your hood on it will stick to the hood. Then you can drill from there.

you could also get a bolt same diameter and just a bit shorter than the hood pins and cut off the head and grind it down to a point.
install it in place of the hood pin and slowly lower the hood down until the sharp point makes a mark on the bottom of the hood and this will locate the hole you need to make for the pin to fit through. just adjust the height of the sharp one so it just will touch the bottom of the hood when it is closed so you get right on the mark for the pin. you can use this trick for any hood pin by the way.
