Default 90 GT Exhuast Question

I've got a buddie with a Flowmaster cat back kit for a 1990 LX 5.0

Will it fit on a 90' GT?

I am not sure of the differences?

Everything will fit except the tailpipes. The LX pipes shoot straight out the back while the GT has turndowns. You can buy just the tailpipes. I bought replacement tailpipes for my GT the other month. Its all Flowmaster and were around $100 a pair or so.

I think the only difference is the GT has turndowns and the LX has tailpipes, I dont think you can fit the tailpipes with the GT rear bumper.

It is exactly the same except for the tips. An LX has the straight pipes that come back and exit under the bumper. The GT has the ground effects and the exhaust has turndowns right before the bumper.

If you get the kit, take it to a muffler shop and they can put turndowns on it for pretty cheap. Call around and see who has the best deal before you take it somewhere.

the GT bumper hangs down farther then the LX bumper. the tips will hit. the gt exhaust kits have turn downs just before the pipes hit the bumper. some people notch the GT bumper to make the straight tail pipes of the LX fit. but to answer your question, it will work but you will need to modify your bumper or cut some of the tips off and attach some turn downs from the parts store

Cobra and LX both have the same pipes. The GT is different.
