RE: 500 hp 5.0?!
lol i kno about the cams part i just didnt say anything lol
to get to 500 all he would need would be a 50 shot or very minute amount of boost. i should have 425bhp in my 331 stroker...hes got 16 more cubes...16 cubes x 1.3 hp to cube ratio=21hp
i want 450...doubt i will get it n/a but 400-450 will suit me just fine! he he and a 100 down the road

Wouldn't a 400rwhp motor have close to 500 hp flywheel?

drivetrain loss is commonly misunderstood as a "percentage". The 15%-20% loss that you get is under stock conditions.
If a car with 200hp can put 175 to the wheels, roughly a 12.5% loss... Would you assume that a 400hp car with the SAME EXACT drivetarain would still lose 12.5% of its power? Resulting in only 350rwhp.....
Wouldnt it seem more likely that a car with 400hp would make 375rwhp given the 25hp lost due to drivetrain drag????
keep in mind the numbers used are just round figures... but it makes you wonder... doesnt it?

I could see that happening at the flywheel, but not at the wheels.

It would be a good, efficient, high attention the detail combo. But I can see it happening in a pump gas, hyd. roller combo.
