Will the Distributor in my 1992 gt work in a 1971 model motor?

It should, but you'll need to make sure you have the right gear material for the cam/dizzy, iron/iron steel/steel etc

As is?....nope....there are some differences aside the gear + are you keeping the EFI system?

then just make sure the cam gear is of the right material. also make sure your computer for the EFI is for the 1-5 firing order which your old motor is gonna have (later model HO 5.0's had a 1-3 a.k.a. 351w firing order)
