if its a Super Coupe meaning the supercharged MN-12 style ( bigger birds with rectangle headlights) then it will not fit because it is independent rear suspension unless you plan on fabbing a setup up. If its out of a turbo coupe, it will fit but it is a lil bit wider then a stock mustang axle but has rear disc and a locking 3.73 rear under it.

If it is aTurbo Coupe it fits perfect, but you will have to cut down the axel dampner brackets, easy to do, if you have Quad shocks, I installed one in my 84 GT350, plus they are a good used choice due to lack of abuse because how much could it have gone thru from a 4 cylinder? And automatics came with 3.73 Traction Loc rears.

They are wider only if you use the disc brakes on them, otherwise they are the same backing plate to backing plateas a 7.5 in rear end, not sure about the 8.8 in a mustang, and I used a 4.5 in. back space on my Weld Pro Stars, and had enough room for 275/60with a 1/4 in to spare on the horizontal dampner.
