Default Having trouble putting on pulleys

Can't get the alternator pulley off, i know i need a certain tool but i'm told i can take it off different ways.

Person helpin me stuck something inside alternator to "lock" it so i can get the bolt off, but the tool broke off inside and is just laying on the bottom of my alternator, its really thin but could it cause any damage?

get the thing out, you dont want that in there doing damage.

second, get an impact gun. thats the way it was meant to be done.

lol, i was going to say something along those lines but didnt want to be an a$$. but since you said it first i have something to say about it as well.

anyone that tells you do stick something into the alt that is thin enough to break off, has no business giving mechanical advise. give him a rubber ball to bounce to keep him busy and ask him to stay out of your way.

I was waiting for somebody to say something. The old alt pulley was making alot of noise, so im forced to replace it anyway.

How do i get that piece out? Just take off the alt and go inside of it?

the pulley itself shouldnt make any noise. it has no bearing... Perhaps your alternator is no good?
