Default First Start...How to tune it??

Just got new motor in and it runs pretty bad....it runsbut doesnt die..and it doesnt sound right...but it just has no power, bad throttle response, and revs like****tI just want to know what to do to tune it.thanks

-It has all new stock motor but with e-303 cam
- stock new bebuilt heads
- frpp new 19# injectors
- new plugs, msd cap and rotor, and frpp wires
- new bbk cai

check your timing.... you shouldnt even be revving the car until you set timing with a light

timings at 10*...and i was just reving it to 2k slowlyand barely got to there

What exactly is it doing? Gettin valve float real low? Stumbling? Need more info.

it doesnt have valve float i dont think....i mean it idles ok i guess but when you give it gas i guess you can call it "stumbling" but it sounds like it has a miss and it has no throttle response at all....

im not sure on that one..I know i still have to mess with the timing and firing order....I was just seeing if anyone knew of anything to do with a new motor on first start up..but i cant really do anything right now because i the need a new water pump gasket..after i do all that and if i still can tget it to run right im sure ill be back on here asking for your guys help. Does timing have to be different with the e-303 cam i got in there and do i have to mess with anything else for the bigger cam?

start off checking the firing order. if you crossed 1 wire on the cap, it would run like that.
