Default HCI difficulty meter...

Ordered parts today. Is this something I can do? I'm doing at a local shop and I'm friends with the owner. He says he'll help me when I get stuck. Should I go this route? Or should I see how much my local stang shop wants.
BTW my parts list:
Holley Systemax II intake
AFR 165's
Stage 1 cam
Adj Fuel pressure regulator
255 lph pump
comp cam pro magnum rockers
FMS Alum driveshaft
FMS clutch cable
Pulleys
#24 lb injectors
then it's going for a chip and tune

On car is BBK CAI C&L 73mm MAF 70mmTB

Cool, I know to buy zip locks and a sharpie. Bag and label everything.

If you have any mechanical ability whatsoever you can do it in a week tops. Just cross reference everything you do with a Chilton's manual or similar, don't forget torque specs, anything you might not remember how to put back together take pics, etc. You'll be fine

This will help if you need it

However, on #24, DO NOT forget to take lifters out before the cam. Forget this, and death shall ensue

You gotta start somewhere an you have a great opportunity to learn it. You have a mechanic standing by so give it a shot. Worse that will happen is you may have to ask for help. Wire ties, Ziplocks, Black Sharpies, and a digital camera are good insurance.

a good ref book is "How to Rebuild Small Block Ford Engines." Published by HP Books.

plus 1 for everything above bags, sharpie, camera. it canbe nerve racking looking at all those parts(if youve never done it before) but its a real pleasure to say you put it all together.your pretty much putting all the same things i did at one time, have a chiltons handi and probly the most confusing thing when exsplained (for my first time anyways) was setting the valve lash on the roller rockers but once your in there it makes sence and its easy.
YOU CAN DO IT! good luck take pics and let us know how it went.
