hey samseed... summit says you need intake manifold modifications for those valve covers to work, i assume they mean on the stock intake.
can you verify this?

Yup, that i can verify. They mean that because they are a little taller than stock, they will not fit under a standard stock upper intake manifold. It wasn't an issue for me though because I bought a 1" spacer at the same time. The 1" spacer still fits under the stock hood and even fits under my stock strut tower brace. Plus you get the benefit of the longer runners plus cooler upper intake (which equals cooler air.)

I can actualyl hold my hand on top of the upper intake after teh car has been running awhile. That wasn't possible before the spacer.

But anyway, I paid under $100 for the valve covers plus a 1" spacer. I'll get some pics when ai get home today so you can see what it looks like.

I managed to find a few pics I had already uploaded where you can see the covers. Not the greatest pics though:

If you look real close in this pic, near where teh schrader valve would be at the front of the intake, you can see a small brown thing. that's the corner of the spacer. You can see a little of the covers here, but you also see how everything fits well.

Here's a better view of the spacer and you can kinda see the other valve cover

That's all i have uploaded. I'll take better pics later.

wow. i never realized how close that S/C puts the intake to the header. that can't possibly be good.

anyway, i'm liking those valve covers. i think i might snag a set, plus a spacer. my intake gets wicked hot after i'm runnin around, i can cook eggs on it if i wanted too.

You might be dissapointed...the EGR will make your upperhot also. I plugged my egr port in my intake(I have no EGR) and my intake stays cool without a spacer.

i realize that... but i cant take that stuff out for another year. anything i can do for a little colder charge, up until then, is a step in the right direction.

Don't even get me started on that, LoL. It has pissed me off since I got it. But I think I have a way yo fix it. I'm going to fabricate a newer inlet and see if I can run it into the fenderwell. That should greatly help.

I handled that problem by removing the EGR. With the spacer, the EGR tube was too short to fit so I just completely removed it. But then again, you probably figured out that it was removed by looknig at my pics

And since I have a tweecer RT installed, I simply shut off the EGR in the scalars.

Edited to add: And don't forget that the spacer gives you slightly longer runners. Nothing wrong with getting a little more low end torque!
