How much does it cost for a shop to put gears in ? Everyone tells me different ...

thats because every shop is different... when i paid someone to do mine first, they charged me 450, and i supplied gears, i gor ROBBED..... but a fair shop should only charge 200ISH if you supply gears

I got 4.10's installed 5 days ago and it costed 250 out the door. and there is no whine. And I use cheaper gears(motive/value gears)they installed them correctly and its done cheap. so about 250 or so up to 300 is average.

yeah with the labor they will charge more than the gears are worth. just look around for prices. and pic the cheapest place with the best work done

that's a whole lot easier said than done for sure! best advice is to ask around among some of your more knowledgable car buddies and get some recommendations from them about the best local shop that they would take their car to to get gears installed. it's rare that the cheapest place will do the best job of installation, so take your time gathering some information before you commit to a shop or you'll be sorry.
