Default runnin a lil hot help

the stang seems to be running a little bit hot lateley. The radiator was replaced less than a year ago with a crappy stock like radiator. I just replaced the thermostat. the only thing i can think of is the water pump, what do you think?

Long runs on the freeway the car barely gets to operating temp even with the a/c on, plus i live in arizona.
Sitting at a stop light with the a/c on, the temp guage will start climbing fast, to over half way before the light even turns green. As soon as i turn the a/c off, the temp guage drops quickly. In the middle of the hot day sitting at an idle with the a/c off, the temp guage started to rise again, but just not as quickly as it would if the a/c was on.

Please help

check your fan. the clutch fans can go out every now and then. im wondering if you installed your fan in the right direction?? its dumb but worth checking.

do you have any problems with the radiator over flowing or any bubbles in the overflow after a hard run around the block??

Sounds like a flow problem in the radiator. Check the above mentioned as well.

well if it doesnt overheat on the highways which mean the air is moving through the rad and keeping it cool but at a stop light it starts to overheat..... hmmmm. its got to be something with the fan. Check to see if its working, if it is check to see if its spinning the right way. you want air sucking towards your engine through the rad, if it is reverse to that then, it is sucking in air from the engine which is hot. To tell if its turning the right way, take a dollar bill and when the fan is on the dollar bill should stick to the rad which is a good thing and that is cooling properly. If its not that then I would have your water pump checked out. Good luck

A high flow water pump makes a huge difference even with a stock type radiator. Also, adding some RedLine Watter Wetter or similar has always helped me. Like the above, make sure no bubbles in the system, fan is working like its supposed to, thermostat is working properly, coolant levels are correct,etc....
