No, i dont think this is the stock rwhp, cuz its an 83, the horsepower went up later when it was changed to EFI, i think the car stock had about 155hp at the crank if im not mistaken.

you'd be surprized at how lame the factory flat tappet cams are. pick up a summit grind 218/228 .471/4.71 cam for like 70 bucks with lifters, toss it on there - and if you can, grab a holley street avenger 570 or a holley 4160 600. also, if it has the ford aluminum intake swap it out for a wieand dual plane, i forget the part number but there are two different ones that are almost the same but one of em is a new design and outperforms the edelbrock performer for idle-5500 by like 15 or 20 horsepower

h/c/i man...and in your case a carb. gears are great too for that kick in the *** factor...and i dunno what you guys think about barry grant carbs, but my buddies got one on his 81'...runs great!
