i just did a 460 swap in my 84gt the guy who had it before me i dunno if he cut the three wire tconnector that plugs into the distributer off or what but i have no clue where any wires go i SUCK at wiring anyway evrything is still there but how do i hook up the wiring just to get the engine to run? the dura spark box is still there and connected but the harness it goes into and splits i dunno what goes where to run the engine?also where does the positive cable on my starter connect to in the engine bay?thanks

umm....... does ur dist. have 3 wires? The positive goes to the solenoid. It sounds like u bit off more than u can chew on this one. Your description is awfully confusing. You need some kind of crank signal to make the electronic ignition work

the car ran when i went to buy it but i agreed to buy it as a rolling chassis and the guy lives like 800mi away so i cant really ask him if he butchered anything when he pulled the engine but basically all the wires have connectors except a couple....yes it has a 3 wire connector on the dist.

So what r u missing? the actual connector? Is the coil connected? I have never worked on a 460 before so I'll help as much as possible but I'm not sure exactly what uare lookin for here.

ok now that i know what wires/plug goes to the dist.. these are the wires i have left over and and asm asuming go to the instrument cluster?but where do they plug into on the engine?these are all on the passenger side

then on thepassenger side i have these wires:
these two are splice from my + bat. terminal

and i pulled this along with some other stuff of a 460 in a junkyard it will plug into that one connector but wires are different colors
