RE: ford ltd cop car 5.0?
All you have to do, if a HR cam is that important, is to install a set of linked HR lifters with the appropriate HR cam, and you have a HR cam setup. The lifters are expensive though......when compared to the OEM ones for a roller ready block.

The 85 cfi mustang was RATED AT 180 hp and was A H.O. motor in it's class vs other cfi ford 5.0 v-8 cars..although it wasn't much of a h.o in my opinion it did have tubular headers a dual snorkal air cleaner and a differnet flat tappet cam vs the standard cfi motors that came in other cars like ltd's that some of which were non-h.o motors all in all I junked my cfi set up in favor of a late model roller cam engine. with 4 barrel!! to give you an idea of the crappiness of cfi I modded the engine and removed the aod in favor of a t-5 and with a performer cam 448/472, roller rockers, true dual exhaust, ported e7te heads and 3.73 gears the car with the stock cfi fuel injection ran a best of 15.4 with slicks... the only change I made after that was convert it to a 4 barrel with intake and carb and I ran a 13.47 at 99 mph

All the aod 5.0 mustangs had cfi pre 1986. They are dog motors, the most hp they had was in 1985 and it was around 180 I think. The motor may not be a ho, so it won't even except rollor lifters. You'd probably be better off buying a motor out of a 87-93 mustang.
