yeah man, i would say change your fuel filter, change that strator coil out and seal it with a little black rtv this time around the rubber, check all your plugs and wires and conciter getting a new cap and rotor. That should solve alot of your issues.

id say 9/10 its the pick up coil which is in the distrubutor. happend to me while racing a honda in my 93 GT and he ended up gettin me top end cause it was cuttin out. After that i completely understand what u mean by "breaking up".
Sometimes its that. My car did that once a while ago, I too thought it was the pickup coil. Changed it, problem didnt go away. Changed the armature, no change, changed cap, rotor, wires little better but still missed. And since I had JUST put in new plugs I didnt check em. I was all ready to tear the motor down, when I did decide to check the plugs, 5 out of th 8 had melted away the electrodes completely. I mean every thing, the little bent arm thing, the center electrode with the ceramic, all gone.[] Put in another set, ran good for a week samething. Then another set of some superduty champions, melted those too. Finally I was able to get some non-resistor autolites that were 13 heat ranges colder, and she ran great ever since

Where the fug did you find those? What was stock number vs the 13 heat ranges colder? I've seen plug numbers run maybe a range of six like Autolites 41 to Autolites 46 but not thirteen...
