how to adjust distributor timing?
Hey guys, I was told that adjusting the distributor timing by 14 degrees will help my car perform better. Someone mentioned this just now on this forum so it brought it back to mind. I was wondering if there is a step-by-step guide on how to do this and what are the risks and drawbacks if any. I know you have to use premium fuel after doing this, but I've been using premium fuel for about a year now anyhow, I don't use anything else, don't want to risk clogging up my fuel lines or injectors with low quality gas...
Anyway, if you guys know about this stuff, and what I need to buy to do it, please share. Thanks!

get car to normal operating temp, unlpug spout connector, losen bolt next to distributer, set to markes desired, 13-14ish on 91 pump gas is optimum... white out helps on the marks.. then re check after tightening, and if you here a ping go with 12*

Ok, taking this photo: Can you use paint or something and point to where this spout is? I THINK I know what you're talking about, but just to be sure so I don't go unplugging the wrong thing while the car is running, lol.

The spout is not in the distributor.Follow the plug from the module on the dist.Back about 2 inches there is another plug with a gray little plastic piece plugged into it that is the spout.

all you guys seem to have forgotten that he will need a timing light to reset the timing and I don't think he has one or knows how to use it from what he's already said. LOL
when you give instructions, don't assume anything!
