Default How are Jeg's ring & pinion sets?

Hello, I was shopping aorund for gears, and saw two that looked good. 50resto is selling their Ford Racing 3.55 gears for $139.95 here: 50resto Ford Racing Ring & Pinion.

But Jegs has a kit with a complete package with the gears, oil, and complete installation kit for $278.99 here: Jegs Ring & Pinion with installation kit package

I think 50resto's price is pretty decent, but the package Jegs offers might be worth more, so it looks like a better deal, but how good are JEG's gears, do any of you have them?

I don't know who makes the gears for Jegs but if you're on a tight budget, then they have the better deal overall and they have a great reputation in the mail order parts business, so it's up to you to decide. personally I would go with 3.72's myself rather than 3.55's.

Well, like I've said, the car isn't a drag racer, and I travel on the highway a lot, so I am looking for the minimal gas mileage hit.

Oh, I thought they were called Ford Racing, I guess I should have known what you meant, but just in case there is another brand called FMS or something, lol.

Well, if I buy the Ford gears, I still need to buy that entire rebuild kit right? Man, I better not bother, it looks out of my league, I like to do everything myself, so if I don't think I can do it, better not do it at all, lol.

Well maybe later when I have more money to spend on the car.
