I was wondering if all fuel injected 5.0 302 are roller engines or not, I think the engine I have is either a 85 or 86 5.0 FI out of a mustang and just wondering if all those was rolller engines or not.

No, not all were rollers. Rollers started in 85. If youre curious...

85 block: E5AE-6010-DC

86 block: E6SE-6010-DC

If it is a 5 speed, it is an 86. The '85 only came with FI if it had an automatic.

Thanks for all the help, the car is a 5 speed and thanks for the block numbers ill have to check the engine to see if any of these match up.

One more quick ?....the intake only says 5.0...not 5.0 HO like alot of other mustangs I have seen. How much difference are these two types?

All blocks 85+ are roller, regardless if they were equipped with roller lifters or not.

all Mustang 5.0s from 82-95 were H.O.
82-84 used a flat-tappet cam

1985 5-spds were the first roller and were carb 5.0s
1985 Autos were also rollers but CFI, NOT SEFI, its pretty much still a carb car

1986 5-spds AND Autos were the first year of SEFI and were roller 5.0s also
