what do u think the key thing u did to the block that made it last?
I think the extensive machine work and balancing combined with the auto trans and only footbrake. And I should say, I turn the heck out of this thing, been shifting at 6500 RPM

Alot of the bad stuff (high stresses) that happens in an engine is due to mechanical imbalance, performance imbalance and pure inertia forces.
What I tried to do was minmize all of these.
To reduce impacts of inertia;
-light weight pistons and rods
- close tolerances on bearings and wrist pins
- centrifical SC for power adder
- auto trans, foot brake only
To reduce performance imbalance;
- deck block to match all cylinders
- match each cylinder to piston
- hand grind each ring end gap (with proper gap for SC application)
- align hone after girdle install
- 1/2 inch head studs
- O ring heads
- all intake/head ports matched to gaskets
- box upper intake, lower intake short equal runners
To reduce mechanical imbalance;
- balance each piston
- balance each rod
- balance entire rotating assembly by removing weight from crank

when I got my 347 back from the machine shop it cost me about 1k in just machining and balancing. I did all the steps you did for your engine on mine, but i'm not running boost. They had my block for about 3 months working on it. I hope I can hit that much HP one day lol as of right now i'm broke from this project!

Good machine work is worth the money spent
