ahhh that makes sense, I am hoping that it just needs to run for a minute or two to get the pressure up because I really have no idea what else it could be

I put in the old lifters...the one thing I didn't replace[:@]and there is plenty of oil in the pan. The car is still at the shop I will get them to check if there is pressure in the bottom end (I am pretty sure they were going to anyways) and I doubt it has anything to do with the oil pump becuase it worked fine before I pulled apart the top end.... I know I should have just bought those magnets and to lift the lifters rather than pull them right out[8D]

yeah. use used new lifters or old ones?
+1 for putting in a dry filter, less mess
if you have pressure in the bottom end your golden. if you dont its one of a few things.
1) oil pump driveshaft
2) low oil level in the pan
3) oil pickup tube issue, clogged screen or maybe the fugger fell of into your pan [&:]
4) pump wont prime, in which case you need to remove oil pan and pack pump full of vasoline - but if you have to pull it out you might as well get a new (better) pump anyways.

the driveshaft that primes the pump is not on the dizzy. / the wire is not on pressure unit/ no oil in oil pan.
prime it with a drill, on the shaft.

I am going to get them to prime it this morning hopefully it is just something stupid. The sending unit is connected but it could havea pinched wire or something stupid that I can't see
