Default Clutch problem ???

Hi,
I have a problem on my 87 GT.
My car is moving when is start the engine andthe gears are hard to put in when the engine is running.

I ajusted the clutch using the self-ajuster on the quadrant... That
wasn't enough, but it helped a bit. I then bought a Steeda firewall
clutch adjuster.
http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/cableadjuster.htm
That thing worked great for a while but now I am having the
same problem.

I had the clutch & pressure plate replaced in june, but I started
having the problem before that.

I have had the car for 10 years now and never changed the cable. Any idea what I should look for ?

Thanks

Default Clutch problem ???

Thanks for the info.. I have 2 more questions

Does the adjustable quad do the same job as the firewall adjuster ?I had to replace the quad 2 years ago because the plasticgears were worn out. Since I did not know there were ajustable ones, I bought a stock one ford the dealer...

Is it possiblefor the clutch fork to bend over the years ? I previously had a centerforce clutch and it was very stiff.

Thanks in advance !

it's possible....the firewall adjuster lets you make fine adjustment....the stock quad is plastic..the clutch being so still took out your quad most likely

the 3 hook quad lets you make big adjustments but it's not prone to break and leave you stranded like the plastic one

true. the cable needs to be replaced as does the clutch fork. also it would not hurt to replace the ball that the clutch for rest on. the quadrant is a life saver and vfast has a heck of a deal on it.

with the aluminum quad you will bend the clutch pedal before you break anything else.
